Avery - Newborn - Holmen, Wis.

Warning: I'm posting lots of images - all black and white - in this post. There were so many portraits that made my heart happy and I wanted to share those with you! I chose to post black and white photos because, to me, black and white portraits can stop time and feel real.

I left this session feeling very joyful after spending time with and celebrating this little new life - Avery.

Congrats to Brian and Christy on such a beautiful baby. And, Avery, my dear, you are a blessed little girl to have such loving and wonderful parents!

Happy weekend, everyone!

This photo brings tears to my eyes. It's just so honest in black and white - mom comforting baby in daddy's arms.

This little dog - Lou - has a fierce bark!

I just L.O.V.E. the way Christy is looking at Avery.

Another tear-jerker for me. L.O.V.E.!

Nicole & Jeremy - Trash the Dress - West Salem, Wis.

It's hard to believe that Nicole & Jeremy have been married for a month already! We got together again a couple weeks after their wedding (see photos here, here, here, and here) for a trash-the-dress session. I loved, loved, loved having the extra time to get some relaxed shots of this couple.

I was joined at the wedding and TTD session by Kate Bentley Photography. Check out her blog!

Nicole & Jeremy - Thank you for asking me to be a part of your wedding day. It was wonderful to share a ton of special moments with you, your family, and friends! I wish you all the best and many, many years of love, laughter, and happiness!

L.O.V.E.

My favorite part of this photo is Nicole's hand.

I LOVED the sun the evening we took these photos - soooo buttery and beautiful!

Christian - Denmark High School Senior - Maribel, Wis.

I knew Christian's senior session would be a lot of fun, mostly because a) he's up for anything, and 2) I was sure he'd have some sweet locales lined up for us. Here's a little peak at what we were up to yesterday. This was taken in an old (and beautiful) building on his parent's Maribel property. Christian + trombone + plus old dusty tractor = fun for me!

Thanks, Christian, for being so A.W.E.S.O.M.E. to photograph!

More photos to come ...

Miss Avery

Avery is one lucky little girl. She's adorable and tiny and sweet ... and, most importantly, loved dearly and deeply by her parents, Christy and Brian. Here's a teeny peak at what I captured. I will post more photos soon!

Have a great weekend!

Mike & Amy - Engaged Part II

Thanks to the rain holding off, I was able to snap a few photos of Mike & Amy for their engagement session. Remember, I shot some pix this winter of them too? They are getting married January 29, 2011 in Eleva, Wis., which if you ask me, cannot come soon enough!

Have a GREAT day!!

Shooting for me ...

When I need to feel energized or need a kick of creativity, I set out with my camera and just start shooting. I met up with Kate Bentley a few weeks ago and we did just that - shot for ourselves. We wandered around Phoenix Park in Eau Claire, Wis. and I fell in LOVE with my surroundings! The flowers, colors, and ambiance of park goers was energizing and exactly what I needed!

Watch for another "Shooting for me ..." post in the near future. I had a little time over the weekend to enjoy my camera without any time limits. :)

LOVVVVVVVVVE this building!

Nicole & Jeremy - Trash the Dress

I'm not a fan of the term "trash-the-dress", but that's what I'm calling this session. Kate Bentley Photography shot this session with me. Don't worry, we didn't come close to trashing Nicole's B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L. dress, but had lots of fun during this laid back session. We hit up the banks of the La Crosse River, a funky alley, and a farm at sunset. I would highly suggest this type of shoot to all brides. TTD sessions are very relaxed, which isn't a luxury to be had on the actual wedding day. After yesterday, I'm seriously considering breaking out my own wedding dress for a TTD sesh! Anyway, here's a small glimpse of what we captured. More to come ... probably lots more ... :)

Happy Monday!

p.s. If you have a suggestion for a different name than trash-the-dress, please message me!

Mike & Amy - Engaged

You might remember Mike & Amy from their winter engagement session. Amy also wanted a few photos taken during the summer, so I happily agreed! Here's a little peak at what we captured. More to come ...

Happy Friday!

Marincel family - Menomonie, Wis.

I love to take little road trips that end with good times. Last weekend I traveled to Menomonie, Wis. to photograph the Marincel family. It was so fun to hang out with this family and capture some moments of the four of them together. Although, with two very mobile boys, it's sometimes hard to get everyone to stay in the same spot!

Thanks so much, Mel and Jeff, for inviting me up. We need to get together more often!

Fredrickson family - Holmen, Wis.

I recently had the opportunity to take a few photos of the Fredrickson family in Holmen, Wis. The light during our shoot was sooooo beautiful ... and, since these two adorable girls kept me on my feet, we had no problem chasing the sun!

Thank you, Fredrickson family, I had a WONDERFUL time hanging out with the four of you! :)

Happy Monday!
