Mike & Sarah - Engagement | Rochester, Minn. Engagement & Wedding Photographer

Let me start by saying that I love shooting in Rochester, Minn. Love it! I met Mike & Sarah at Peace Plaza and we just ended up walking around that area looking for neat alleyways to shoot in. The light was perfect ... and the whole shoot was just very fun and low-key. Just the way I like it! :)

Sarah & Mike are getting married in Ettrick, Wis. next June. I cannot wait! :)

I love this little sequence ...

M Family | Gilman, Wis. Portrait & Wedding Photographer

This is my brother and his family. They were so brave the day we met up for photos. It was COLD & WINDY and yet they agreed to do whatever and go wherever I asked. :)

Can't wait to see you all during the holidays (if not before)!!

Carlson's Quarters | Tomahawk, Wis. Portrait & Commercial Photographer

Hubby and I capped off our visit to Tomahawk by meeting up with the Carlson family, the owners of Carlson's Quarters. This new-to-the-area business relocated from Texas and holds a lot of promise. Ashleigh, a Baylor Equestrian Team alumnus, has plans to renovate the property and to eventually offer summer camps. Currently, Ashleigh boards and trains horses, as well as gives riding lessons from beginners to advanced. The location is gorgeous and quiet and the people, well, they are pretty awesome too!

Thanks, Carlson family, for a fun afternoon! Next time I WILL ride a horse! :)

I also snapped a few photos of the farm, the indoor horse arena, and its residents! :)

R Family | Tomahawk, Wis. Portrait & Wedding Photographer

Reconnecting with the R family was a great experience. I used to work and live in Tomahawk, Wis., so heading up north was a welcomed road trip. As a newspaper reporter, I wrote a story about this family's mom, Rachel. At the time, she was in her 20s battling cancer. I'll never forget the conversations we had while I sat with her through one chemo treatment. Her story changed my life forever.

On and off for the last few years, I've thought of her. Wondered how she is doing and where life has taken her. We reconnected on Facebook and our friendship started over from there! Five years later, she's as healthy as ever (YAY!) and is an on-the-go wife to her hubby and mom to their two very energetic kiddos!

Hugs, R family, you are all so wonderful! I was so honored that you asked me to spend a morning with you! :)
